I've had four emails over the last couple of days containing viruses. Two appeared to come from a Peugeot dealer, one from frequent users of this site (don't want to name names for fear fo being hated!) I'm sure these individuals aren't bombarding me with viruses but it made me wonder if its a visitor to this site picking up addresses to target and names to use as cover. Anyway, my Anti Virus is up to date so disaster averted but I thought I'd warn everyone else to check there's are up to date just in case.
Anyone else suffered?
Computer virus anyone??

I do check where they claim to come from though and seeing as they seem to have some link to here, I thought I'd better warn others. Anyway, if you get an email which looks as though it comes from a user of this forum, you may well open it without thinking.

Lyndon as you say, the Klez virus is V popular at the moment. It spoofs the e-mail address so that it claims to be from someone you know, when the virus came from else where. Hence you only complain to your friend, but the virus remains on the unsuspecting sender's PC, so it can be ages before you stop getting the viruses, or never if they don't uses a virus checker on their PC. And......
Enough!

The message here is invest in some legitimate virus software. Also, especially if you're running cable get a firewall. The Mcafee suite is brilliant - you can buy it online and it keeps itself up to date. Reformatting is a pain and I've never ever done sufficient backup (just ask Trung). What annoys me is the sicko's out there that devise these things. If they turned their computer talent to good things they could reap rewards.
Cheers

Yep -I use Norton an it zaps those viruses everytime - an it automatically updates itself from the web which is hassle free.
I recommend the Norton Systemworks package which contains 4 packages in one:
1).Norton AntiVirus - it does as it says.
2).Norton Utilities - (optimises PC performance and solves PC an window problems.
3). Norton CleanSweep - cleans out Internet clutter
4). GoBack - provides automatic backup an - quick an easy system recovery
