206cc Won't start after battery change.Multiple problems

Post by chezza1234 »

Fingers crossed someone out there can help..I didn't drive my 2002 1.6 206cc for a few weeks due to a flat battery. A mechanic friend of mine fitted a brand new one last week but now there are bigger issues! The engine turns over but will not start..the windscreen wipers won't stop..then the alarm starts when you get out of the car..central locking isn't working and windows don't wind down so not possible to do the BSI reset..What do I do please?? :o

Were the correct procedures followed to the letter?

Hi, he couldn't follow the whole procedure because the windows won't lower so I sat in the car while he told me what to do. :?

Did you try the above? If it was not succesful you will have goosed the BSI, so yes replace or repair it. Search on here for changing BSI. It's not straightforward so read up first. Fore-warned is fore-armed and all that!!

Hi again Colin.. this is where we're at now. Auto electrician told me to get BSI from ebay (he even supplied the item number). It has arrived and he says it's working..however..he says he needs to cars 4 digit code? When I bought the car (second hand) No codes of any kind were supplied so how do I get these codes? Do I need to go to Peugeot or can the info be bought online?..This really is taking the shine off my PUG..I'm kind of falling out of love with her :( ..Never in a million years would you think a dead battery could cause all these issues!

There is a guy on 206info.co.uk .. member name Lee ... he can supply you the costs for a smaller fee than a Pug dealer, which is your only option. Not sure how quickly he will respond though being a Bank Hol.

Hopefully your car has it's original codes, etc.

Otherwise try on peugeotforums site and see if anyone can help there ...

They will need your VIN code.
