Anyone else have the above when driving? when i pick up speed i can hear it then as i slow down it becomes quieter.

Could be several things ... Tyres, bearing, gearbox, diff, etc.
What make and model tyres do you have? Some budgets and tread patterns are worse than others.
Does the noise continue to increase as you go through the gears or drop back down are then up again as you change?
