206 won't start after driving long distance
Hey guys, new here. I have a 206 1.4l automatic, and after i drive for long distances and switch the car off, it refuses to start, i hear a click but no crank when I turn the ignition. i was told it was the crankshaft positioning sensor and to just clean it, i did that but the same problem. Should I replace it completely? I was also told its the starter motor but I don't want to spend all that cash and still have the same problem, please help me out guys.

Hi. That is a well documented problem with the starter motor. You need a new one.
The reason it's not the crank position sensor is because the CPS gives a timing signal to the ECU by measuring when a set point on the flywheel passes the fixed sensor. If the engine doesn't turn, it can't send the signal. ergo- engine needs to turn first before signal is sent.

Yes, I confirm what Capncol has told you - Starter Motor.
