The axle bushes have worn so badly that the inside of the wheel is scraping on the body. From all the axle posts I have seen on the net, it seems that it is a huge design flaw.
They seem to have addressed the problem via adding rods on the SW / GTI 180 to prevent horizontal movement of the wheels (and hence the excessive forces on the bushes). This seems to have worked a treat as the cars fitted with these don't seem to have the axle problem quite so badly. I have read that these axles last significantly longer.
Now, my question is: can they be fitted onto a cc?
From what I can see, the rear body braces and the exhaust might be in the way.
Has anyone looked into this at all?
