My keys work on another car
I parked next to a neighbours car, a 2003 206cc, and when I returned to my car I absent mindedly went to the wrong car. It was only when I unlocked and opened the door when I realised it wasn't my car. Any advice?

Yeah, nick anything valuble!!David L wrote: Any advice?
Seriously, You wouldn't be able to start the car and it doesn't mean they could open yours (although they might)
(I'm guessing you opened it with the key and not the remote?)
If you get on well with the neighbour, it could be useful in the event of lost keys etc: If you don't, then consider a chage of locks if it bothers you that much. You will need barrels for doors, boot, glovebox, ignition, fuel cap and boot.
By the way, I deleted your duplicate posts

Re: My keys work on another car
The key worked manually AND remotely. I've just moved into the area so don't know the guy. There are a couple of worries about this.
Will his key work in my car?
What if someone steals his car or steals something from it?
He (or the police) will suspect me. ..not a good situation.
Surely any costs involved in changing locks should be borne by the manufacturer. I would have thought that with even relatively recent technology this should never happen.

Will his key work in my car? Ask him - it will be a way to introduce yourself to you new neighbour

He (or the police) will suspect me. ..not a good situation. Why? Have you got "previous"?
Surely any costs involved in changing locks should be borne by the manufacturer. Really? I would have thought that with even relatively recent technology this should never happen.
