Peugeot 206 2003 1.4 Automatic has slow acceleration
for the past three days when stopping at traffic lights or when stopping completely to make a turn the acceleration is so slow feels like the brakes are pressed. even after it starts going it feels like driving with the brakes pressed a little.
can it be the brake caliper and how can i test it?
had an oil change 2 weeks ago can that have anything to do with it?
oil is "Total Quartz Energy 9000 5W40"
------
no check engine light
no engine codes (using a Bluetooth reader with Torque)
throttle body is clean
map sensor is clean
air filter is ok
Bosch spark plugs are less than a year old / also tested with NGK's it had before
Bougicord coil pack

The oil spec is ok so that won't be it.
If a brake is hanging on then the wheel on the relevant corner will get hot (don't burn your hand while checking). It is likely to be one of the front brake calipers or the rear handbrake (I think your car will have drum brakes on the rear). Another way of checking is to jack the wheels up and check them for resistance to turning.

update:
took car to garage and mechanic noticed a leak between the manifold and catalytic converter.
so i replaced the gasket.
drove it yesterday and today and there's was no slow acceleration.
