speedometer isssues

Post by sharonsoon »

Hi, could anyone tell me how to reset my speedometer after jump start. It has worked itself back to 100kms and now always starts from there. It does move according to speed but it doesn't go back to 0? the auto electrician I went to was no help at all. Was suggesting he take out the whole dash and send it away? Seems a bit extreme to me and I am hoping there is a simpler option.

A BSI reset may be in order. There are a good few links to the correct procedure for properly putting the car to sleep before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

That's assuming it's a plexed 206 Neil. It might be a Ford for all we know.
Cheers Col.
