Beeping when driving over 5 MPH

Post by Hayley19 »

When driving my car 5mph or faster my car starts constantly beeping and only stops when i slow down or come to a stop.
I have not recently had the roof down, havent had it down since summer.
I have done a little bit of research and most people are saying it is connected to the roof.

Just wanted to see if there is anything that i can so or check before going to a dealer to try and save on some money. I was thinking of putting the roof down and up to see if that helps but i am a bit worried it will get stuck down and i dont know how to put it up manually as i dont have a manual.

Please help!!

I would try putting the roof down and then put it back up again.

Read this thread all the way through. Worked for them.

Mine was constantly beeping when driving on bumpy ground or over speedbumps - car thought the boot way open. Check the boot clasp also, there's a little bit of plastic in the central locking mechanism, make sure it's not worn away, I just rolled mine around so the broken bit was facing down and all good now.

I have tried to put the roof down but it won't. It's just constantly beeping at me.

Ok so i have spent most of my day worrying and checking what I can do to try and fix the problem. I am not 100% sure what I am looking for but I have been able to locate most micro switches, what do I need to do to test them? I might sound a bit stupid but I don't really know what I am looking for and what I should be doing when finding the switches. Please help!

Hi Hayley. To really test them properly you need a meter. You can get a pretty good idea if they're working by operating the little button on them by hand. They should "click" when operated. If you have one that isn't clicking, then that one will be the problem. This is probably a 90% accurate way to test. Good luck.

Hayley, please put your location in your profile in case someone is close enough to be able to help.
Starting with the normal roof opening procedure, if the blind is across in the boot, and you undo both roof latches, do your hear a "bong"?
If not, then you need to make sure that the micro-switch for the blind is working, and the roof latch ones are too. You should be able to hear a very faint clicking as they operate.

Sorry for the llate reply. I took my car to a peugeot dealer and a wire had snapped on the boot latch. Cost me £170 to get it checked and repaired.
