Looking to change all 4 of the rear bushes due to loud noises over bumps, checked shockers etc and they are OK, has anyone ever done this with the subframe still under the car or is it a case of dropping it out and doing it that way?
If i'm going to drop it I suspect that it might be easier/quicker to replace with a good 2nd hand one for about £100 as 4 new bushes about £40 - £50.
Your thoughts much appreciated.
PS i've dropped and replaced subfames on a 205 and a 306 in the past without too many problems

Re: rear suspension bushes
There is a universal bush tool available to change the bushes in with. It may be quite expensive though. I've noticed knocking from mine too, but haven't looked at the bushes yet.

Re: rear suspension bushes
Decided to get a 2nd hand back axle and a garage that use for my MOTs fitted 2 new bushes in 5 mins - cost me as box of tea bags and a bag of sugar - I burnt the rubber in the duff ones out then cut through the outer casing in 1 place and chisseled it out cleaned the hole out, I think that it is definitely a drop the axle down to do due to limited space
The tool that they have cost them about £300+ but has every diameter available
