I am trying to diagnose/repair a friend's 206. The MFD (PPT30) is 'blank'.
From searching forums I was expecting it to be a solder joint on the connector for the backlights.
When removed from the dash I found the connector was fine and all 4 bulbs illuminate, it is just that there is no information at all on the display. I have searched the web in vain and not found any help. The harness connector at the MFD looks fine, I assume it has lost communication from the radio somehow, any ideas?
Another issue is that my friend doesn't have the radio code so I'm not happy to disconnect the battery, I assume this requires a Peugeot dealer to reset and have proof of ownership?
No info on the MFD display PPT30

Re: No info on the MFD display PPT30
To add a bit more information. The car is my2000 1.6 petrol Roland Gaross. The MFD is the multiline showing radio station, date, temp... It should be preplexed. I don't find the fuse listing completely explicit; fuse 18 would seem to be the one and includes the radio which itself is working and the buttons are illuminated as is the instrument cluster so must be okay. Clock or display is also mentioned for fuses 8 and 22 but other things on these are working. This discounts a thought that perhaps the backlight feed is separate to the main supply for the MFD.
I have also inspected the PCB carefully and there are no dry joints I can see. The flexi ribbon to the display from the PCB looks undamaged. Pressing on the display has no effect. The backlight bulbs are illuminated.
Seems to have eliminated all the usual suspects I can find on here and the web but the display is blank.

Welcome to the forum.
Poss woth £20 at the scrappy to get another MFD to try?
You seem to have covered all the usual suspects.

It is a standard radio? An after-market won't work with the MFD ... But I guess you know that. Pre-plexed it should be the odd shaped one with a small digital display.
As long as the radio is the original fitment you can get the code from Peugeot or you can get it from some of the members on 206info.co.uk from the VIN ... costs a lot less.

Re: No info on the MFD display PPT30
Thanks for the responses. I thought I would get a notification for replies since I'd started the topic but it didn't happen, will look into settings.
I thought I'd covered all bases but to complete things-
Yes it is the standard fit radio/head unit and one day the MFD just stopped working, I couldn't get any more info from the driver if anything else happened at the time.
My long shot hope was that someone could tell me if they'd found a 'simple' to repair fault in the electronics - I'm a retired electronics engineer but don't have access to equipment to investigate for PCB faults but could probably replace easy to get components. Another possible response might have been that a fault develops elsewhere which means no data is sent to the MFD. In the latter case changing the MFD would not fix the fault of course.
