All I have a 2.0 52 plate cc black silver.
I think it's multiplexed.
The issue I'm seeing, occasionally, is after driving at 30 mph and coming to a stand still, the accelerator seems to stick open the rev limiter will show around 2000 rpm, the only way to return to around 800 is by blipping the accelerator. This will then return it to normal.
On other occasions, the revs will hunt between 1500 - 2000 rpm and keep doing it until I continue my journey. The problem is when continuing the journey, when you release the accelerator you feel a noticeable jolt for instance you could be driving at 30mph and you will get a noticeable jolt down to around 25-27mph. Coming to a standstill you will get the hunting again between 1500-2000. This issue seems to go away after the car has stood for an hour or so.
Both of the issues I would assume are related. They only happen occasionally and don't happen in pattern - for instance in hot weather or cold weather etc etc just happen when they seem like they want. Last year I had an injector issue, on 3 - this was swapped out for new by a peugeot specialists garage. At that time I did a lot of research trying to figure out the issue for myself and swapped out the coil pack and did a full service of oils plugs and filters etc etc etc
Any ideas?

Re: Engine issues
These car use fly-by-wire electronic throttle. It could be a problem with the pedal or the motorised throttle body on the engine. It could be an air leak in the plastic piping at the back of the engine. Do you have any warning lights on the dash? Does it lose power? (limp mode)

Re: Engine issues
I wouldn't know if it's gone into limp mode unless it's told me lol... I've always been able to get above 3k rpm so would assume it's never gone to limp. Never had any warning lights on apart from an anti pollution fault a few months back but that's never returned. And was literally on for seconds and turned the car off and left it for a day. Then was going to take it the garage for the obd to be read for error codes. When I got back in it had gone and never returned.
I'll tell you what I did do which seemed to stop the issue for a while, I remove the plastic housing where the air filter housing connects to where the throttle flap is and cleaned that metal flap controlled by the throttle pedal with some cleaning fluid being careful around the sensor.
Could it be that sensor that is buggered?

Re: Engine issues
That's the motorised throttle body I was on about. They do get sticky sometimes. As you've already tried cleaning it once, I would try and get a good used one from a breakers. Make sure it is the same as your old one, same number of pins in the electrical connectors etc: You then need to calibrate it which is quite simple.P50CKY wrote:I'll tell you what I did do which seemed to stop the issue for a while, I remove the plastic housing where the air filter housing connects to where the throttle flap is and cleaned that metal flap controlled by the throttle pedal with some cleaning fluid being careful around the sensor.

Re: Engine issues
I cleaned it whilst it was on the car so not a thorough cleaning. Would it be wise to completely remove and clean thoroughly first?
What about the little sensor? Can that be replaced up so what is it called? Is it just a lambda sensor?

Re: Engine issues
Thanks for the help by the way, I do appreciate it. Gotta do the rear brakes tomorrow. That will be fun too
