rear window refusing to fully close when roof up!

Post by sophia »

Please help lol ive just bought my first 206cc its a 2004 1.6 allure and for some reason the drivers side rear window goes up half way, quits when its mid-closed and then the drivers window goes up! It will go up will my assistance. The other side is fine and the window goes up fully when the roof is down so i dont think its the motor? But I have no idea, anyone else had this problem or a suggestion please, thanks sophie xx

If you've only just bought it I'd take it back to the dealer and get them to put it right, unless you can see where the friction is holding it back and use some silicon grease to lubricate it. Trouble is, if you try to do it yourself and don't succeed the dealer could argue that you didn't give them the chance to fix it first. If it isn't just friction holding it back then the winder motor could be on its last legs and require replacement.

(I have deleted your duplicate post by the way - no need to ask the same question twice)

Try adjusting it first if lube doesn't work. You might have adjust it in or out at the top from behind the panel. It's quite straightforward once seat and side panel is out. and I can give you some pointers if you need them.
