Just bought my CC.

Post by ftiern9 »

Sorry if these are repeat questions, I've found vague answers to a few of these but none to really say if it's normal or how to fix them.

Anyway, always liked the look of 206cc's so finally decided to get one, only had it for two weeks now. Bought from a dealer, part swapped for my old Honda Civic, and it didn't come with a manual. Driving away I immediately noticed the drivers side window wasn't lining up correctly and was leaving quite a big gap with the door closed. That seems to have fixed itself now but don't really want that to be happening when it's raining overnight. Anyone had this issue?

The mileage is remaining lit up with the engine completely off. The car always seems to think the passenger door is open. My indicators are temperamental which isn't ideal when you don't notice, sometimes it takes 3 or more tries to get it going. Then there's the leak from the roof when breaking but I know this is common with hard top convertibles. My chairs, like I've seen with a lot of Peugeots just go all over the place when they want. Also the central locking occasionally just bleeps and opens up again straight after I lock it.

So nothing major but just small things I'd rather live without. The cars going back to the dealer next week to get a new part fitted for the roof which wasn't working, but I knew that when I bought it and they're supplying it. Just want to get a better understanding of these problems before I speak to them about it, if at all.

Thanks! :)

Welcome!
The driver's window may just have got a bit sticky if the car had been on the garage forecourt for a while.
Keep giving it plenty of exercise (while it's still sunny!) and see if it occurs again. You could also try having a "window race" to see if one is consistently slower than the other - may hint that the mech is a bit stiff and could use some lubrication.
Can't remember but I think the mileage is supposed to stay illuminated (at least for a while). So that one's a non-issue I reckon.
I think the passenger door lock mech contains the latch warning switch. It may need changing, which isn't too difficult once you've got the door trim off. Get yourself registered on Peugeot's Service Box to find the part number on your car (once registered as an independent trader you can simply input the VIN number), then have a look on eBay for vehicle cross-references for that part number, and finally take a trip to your local scrappy. You'll probably find that it's the same as any other one, but NEVER assume that with Peugeot or sooner or later you'll get your fingers burnt!
Silicone grease on the roof rubbers may well sort the leak.
There's a little kind of see-saw clip thing in one of the seat runners which has a nasty habit of breaking, then the seat won't stay put. Getting the right runners may be tricky because of the height adjustment, but if you unbolt the rear of the runner and use a punch to flatten out the little stop that keeps the see-saw thingy in place, it'll slide out and can be replaced with one from any 3-door version in a scrapyard.
