Which Idiot?

Post by cabrioman »

Owned the car before me?
Been doing some more work on the engine.
Found that they had used some crappy gasket under the rocker cover and put it everywhere (even where it wasn't needed!)
So cleaned that all off and had a look at the cams and lifters.
I also finally removed the coil pack after having to drill out one of the screws (too tight and :censored: head)
It turns out that i have 2 x bosch spark plugs, 1 x TDK spark plug and 1 i have no idea who makes. They are also very worn. Not really a surprise i have issues when i'm driving around with 3 different types of spark plugs.
So, next step is a new set of plugs me think.

I agree. It is horrible when you discover that a bodger has been there before you. Makes you wonder what else you're gonna find. Bah!

I know, Found a few things since owning the car but this one was a bit more stupid than the rest. It's like they just threw in what ever they had available rather than what should have been fitted. I've ordered a new set of Bosch plugs as i hear the TDK ones cause problems sometimes.

Yep, Bosch are best for the 206cc.

Put Super 4's in our 2 litre. Made an instant improvement to MPG but then original had Peugeot logos on and only one electrode, so would guess they were very, very old!
