i just bought a 206cc and maybe i was opening the roof without opening the lock, then the problem came
the roof can now be opened or closed electrically, but three problems are there
1) the window doesnt go down , only the roof does ( but the winodws are functioning)
2) after unlocking the hooks, the car gives several beep sound instead of one
3) after the roof goes down, it doesnt give me a beep sound as if the mechanism isnt over yet, the motor keeps running and gives constant beeping sound all day long (unless i stop the car)

would anyone here can tell me what to do?????

i have read many posts here , but still i cant find the solution
should i open it manually? but what's the use of it as my roof can goes up and down now...
the constant beeping sound is gonna kill me, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with regards to the motor continuing to go after the boot lid has closed have you tried getting out and pushing down on both sides around where the latches are.

If you hear a click and the beep stops then the latch/latches are not engaging properly so the roof ecu will continue to operate the pump.

The latches are opened and released/closed and locked by a cable that goes from the latch to the hydraulic ram. the far end of the cable near the latch should have a loop which should be connected to the latch. sometimes this loop can come off the latch so its worth checking. Hopefully the cable hasnt snapped.

I am having the same problem and like you its driving me nuts. I took it to the main dealers who decided to keep it for 2 days, got it back, all was quiet ( for a while) and now its back.
The moment I go over 5kmh beeeeeeeeeeeeep:evil:
Apparently there are 2 white clips in the boot that have something to do with it, but that ends my knowledge.

Ive a similar problem myself. My roof stopped working when it was in the open positon. I put it back up manually. The after that I was getting a continuous beeping coming and going when I hit speed bumps. Then that stopped happening and instead I was getting a continuous beeping over 7-10 kmph which stopped when I stopped. Today I decided to check all the contacters that I could. Seems fine as far as I can tell. NOW when I unhook the right hand hook inside the car as if I am going to put the roof down, straight away without touching the switch for the roof operation, I am getting a continuous beeping until I turn off the car.

Suggestions anyone? I know its most likely one of the microswitches but what I dont understand is why my problem keeps changing without me changing anything. Very confused car by the looks of it.

I would strongly recommend checking every switch thoroughly both mechanically and electrically as it just takes 1 out of the total 11 micro-switches to not activate at the right time to signal the ECU that there's a problem! Gaining access to the switches is fairly easy although you may have to do this with both the roof fully open and the roof fully closed so that you can press and check each switch to confirm they are working mechanically and electrically.

I would imagine over 90% of roof problems on the 206 are caused by either faulty micro-switches or that the switch isn't switching at the correct time. Start with the basics as these are easiest to access......

The Boot cover switch G (sliding screen)
The Boot Closed switch F (boot latch)
The 2 Upper boot Open/Closed switches E & J (top section of boot with the white release hooks)

hi all
I am new to the forum but i have been reading all your posts about the roof problems, this is the closest post to the problem i have with my 2ltr 52 reg (2002) peugeot 206cc convertible

I get all the symptoms such as start the engine drive off and after 5/10 mph i get a continuous bleeping.

come to a stop and the bleeping stops, touch the roof switch up or down and continuous bleeping.

i have had a diagnostic run on the roof and there was a problem with the inner roof latch (passenger side) and the 2 upper boot locks

I have fixed the passenger roof lock switch but that seems to have been the easy bit.

I can't get the to little white catches on the upper boot to lock and stay locked?

they are attached to cables that run up and onto struts.

now this is where i have my problem - even thought the hydraulics are de-compressed via the alan key there is still pressure on these struts and the keep pushing open the upper locks

so whilst these lock will not lock, in turn i can not get the 2 micro switches to close!!!

i have tried to explain this as detailed as i can to see if i can get the best answers but please don't hesitate to ask as may questions about this topic you feel necessary.

I am not sure if this is the correct way to ask a question over other members posts but i will make a fresh post if required

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Have you got the white hooks in the manual or auto position? They need to be in auto.
Cheers Col.
