newbie.

Post by kimgary »

Hi All, My daughter has just bought a 2001/ 206cc 2.0l after owning a 206 on a v plate for 6 years.

I will have the job of looking after it so it will be me on here asking for help.

I worked on cars and lorries from age 11, i did a ford apprenticeship in 1973 and then went on to play with Honda motorcycles.

I then went into non destructive testing in the oil industry as well as nuclear power stations.

I have been back to mechanics a few times as a vehicle restorer, e types.morris minors and Mg's etc, I have always kept up with the technology and try to complete all my own repairs however due to health problems i also rely on a local garage when ramp required etc.

So far on this 206cc i have replaced discs and pads front and rear, osf roll bar link, and main engine lower mounting to sub frame, as well as engine service, and gearbox oil change.

I have a problem with a clunk when changing gear (letting clutch out) that i have so far not rectified, hence main engine bush replaced, i think it maybe in the gear linkage itself? but will keep you informed, will probably post on questions for some advice.

I look forward to being a part of the forum and helping fellow members also.

Regards Gary.

Welcome Gary. Have a look at the wishbone bushes and ball joint if you haven't already done so.
Cheers Col.
