Thanks for the positive comments and the encouragement peeps.
When I look back at the original brief that I set myself in my first post it causes a big grin, because it was fulfilled even better than I could have imagined:

I would like something that needs a bit of TLC to bring it back to life, but which has "potential".
In the past year I've saved 3 cars that were only destined for the great big garage in the sky, but they were all for me.
Now I need to reward her patience by providing something that she can be proud of (but which isn't going to break the bank)!
Quick question: could anyone with a late model CC please describe/photograph the manuals and their packaging that came with the car?
I've managed to get a copy of a 206 CC manual which has a side view of a silver car on the front cover, but would like to know if this is the correct one for the age, if it's supposed to be in a cloth/leather/plastic wallet and what else should be in the same pack.

Hello all.
To anyone who was originally interested in this little tale, here's an "epilogue":
The car has been running great. There was one tiny problem - the COM2000 unit developed a fault (it kept beeping and saying "ABS Fault").
That was easily sorted by swapping over the one from the donor 206 CC that I bought, and other than that it's been great for more than 7,000 miles - not bad for 6 months use, and over such a cold Winter.
So now the car has just over 25,000 on it, which is still nice and low.

As for the donor - not such good news. I put it on eBay for spares or repair but although it had 45 watchers, nobody put a bid in. So I'm going to sell it for parts. I'll canvass opinion for that elsewhere on the forum.

Hi Enright,

Sorry to post on this thread but just wanted to say thanks for the advice, wise words I think. Because I'm a 'newbie', it won't let me reply to messages yet. :?

Thanks again, Amanda
