hi all
i have just joined today as i have bought my 1st 206cc and hoping you can help me with a problem, i've just had a lot of work done on the car inc brakes cv joints etc and havn't used the car yet.
My wife put a cd in the cd player only to find nothing happened apart from the cd getting stuck in there , the chap who does the work on my car managed to get it out but said it isnt working as the mechanism is u s so guess im gonna i will have to replace the unit, however i noticed that having checked the glovebox that there is no multi changer but seems to be brackets there and my question is, is there supposed to be one? does it power the head unit and thats why it dosn't work?, my car is an 02 2.0 se model.
can someone help please?
many thanks
gaz

Re: cd player
I think when multi-changers were fitted they were often put in the boot. Are you sure the glovebox "Brackets" are not the place for the owners manual and service record pack to go?
What make CD player is it? Is it the standard fit Clarion? They are usually coded to the car so should work if original. But it is more than 10 years old so may be kaput.
I'm no expert on ICE but another more knowledgeable member may come along and give some constructive comment.

Re: cd player
I'm not sure if it helps but I've got the original CD/Radio from my car, it was in full working order when I removed it, if you want it, I can send it to you for £15+P&P if you want, it's code the 4 digit code with it also (written on the radio for safety
)
