Various!

Post by Marko215 »

Hi guys would appreciate a bit of advice am new to the forum in fact any forum so please bear with me.
I have a problem with the wife's 206cc quiksilver on an 04 plate. The windscreen washer jets are not working, it's definitely not the motor as I've tested it this morning and it's definitely not fuse 14 from thereon in I am now stuck. Am wondering whether I should strip the column cowling and look at the switch has anybody any experience of the switch failing? And am also starting to think is there a relay in the system as I recall a clicking in the driver's footwell that no longer seems to be there but this may be a red herring as I'm not 100% sure.

Also, am experiencing a random immobiliser fault appearing on the computer display followed by airbag light and then passenger airbag deactivated these seem to clear when you switch off and restart.
Have read a lot on the forum re battery life and spurious electrical faults. I have no idea about the life of the battery but can say it's holding 12.4 volts under load and starting the engine strongly. It is accepting 14.4 volts at recharge so I'm led to believe there's nothing wrong with the battery. Any comments/advice gratefully received - Thanks, Marko

Does the pump run when you operate switch?
12.4V using a heavy discharge tester, or other method?
Cheers Col.

Thanks Capncol for your prompt response. I should have explained I have actually removed the motor from the bottle there is no power to the motor but I have tested the motor using an external 12 volt power supply direct and the motor runs no problem. Regarding the battery it has not been drop tested I used my fluke 77 multimeter for testing purposes.
