206cc Seat Belt Alarm

Hi I am new and would like to ask for help. My wife has an 04 206cc and it has just developed a beeping alarm which I think is the seat belt alarm . The alarm is staying on when the seat belt is on. There is no warning light on and the alarm goes off at slow speeds, about walking pace. I you leave the seat belt off it does exactly the same so that is why i think it is the seat belt alarm.

Can anybody tell me is it a central control unit or does it have a sensor in the seat belt clasp any help welcome.

I am quite capable but dont know much about this car and could do with advice before I start taking seats out etc

i would have thought it was in the clasp as the belt itself carries no wires to make the connection

I thought I had this problem and was about to change the seatbelt latch. Then, we had an unexpected spell of fine weather (!) and I drove with the roof open. After I closed it again, the continuous beep disappeared and has not returned.
Worth a try.
