dreaded beeping roof ahh!

Post by surfingsean »

Hope some one can help me please.

Our pugs roof worked fine when we got it last year but now the roof wont work.
When we release the two front latches we get the bong noise ok.
when we operate the roof button just get a audible alarm beping noise and thats it, no window movement or any thing.
I have checked all the microswitches i can and they all seem ok, taken out the fuse marked sh replaced no change their.
Checked the fluid level in the pump and thats ok.
Don,t know what else to do. Help!

I am presuming that as we get the bong noise the front microswitches are ok and we have got the handbrake on warning light so i guess thats ok.

Hope some one has some idea.
Thanks in advance to any one who offers any advice.
sean.

is the luggage cover in the boot seated correctly on the latches if not there is a micro switch which tells the system not to open as boot area is not covered.

Have a troll through the stickies at the top of the "problems>roof" section. Loads of help there. Could be the microswitch on the boot luggage cover hook.
L/H side as you look in the boot.

Hi capncol,
Checked out all the stickies ans i think it has to be either the luggage cover hook or where the boot closes.
Do you know if there is a way of testing them before i start buying new ones, ie exposing the conductor on the thin wires that lead to the switch and bridging them with a bit of copper wire.
Thanks.

Follow the wires from the microswitch to the plug and seperate there. Test with multimeter for continueity when switch closed.

Well have tested my microswitches and discovered that the right hand side upper boot cover locked switch (e) seems to not be working correctly.
So going to change it and see if that works.
I take it you can only get them from Peaugeot.
Will let you know if it works.

A detailed hunt for me found that the luggage cover switch was not operating correctly. After actuating it a few times it stopped sticking and the roof is now working again.

Well done

Unfortunately there is no generic answer to the roof problems. The same symptoms can be caused by several different things. The microswitches seem to be the biggest culprit.
It is worth watching the "roof operation" video on this forum and carefully note the sequence of operations. You can then logically work through the microswitches in order that are applicable to that particular phase of roof operation, and go from there.
Cheers Col.

Does anybody know if 307cc has the same issues with the roof microswitches?
