tappets
morning peoples.ive had my 206 diesel 1.4 for a few weeks now,great car but am a bit concerned with the tappet noise on idle, ive had diesels for years and ive never heard one tap like this. should i be concerned. 135000 miles, one previous owner, full stamped dealer service history.

If it's a DV4TD engine, the tappets are hydraulic (self adjusting)
Are you sure it's tappets? The injectors can have a pronounced "ticking" at idle.
Does the car smoke? A faulty injector can cause "diesel knock" Might be worth trying some injector cleaner.

ah, i will look at that Capncol, thanks. i wasnt sure it was tappets, just my guess, thought that would best describe the sound.
