Hi all, I have had my 55 plate Blue Allure CC since last Tuesday, SPOT ON motor, excellent condition, low miles and all going well until Saturday. Put the top down with no issues but when I got home and went to close the roof, the boot lid lifted as normal but the motor would not stop hence the top will not raise. I then popped into Peugeot to get the top closed but now it will not stop beeping once on the move. Has anyone seen this before or know how to reset the roof mechanism? I followed prev posts by reopening and locking car to reset which worked but the boot lid motor still doesnt cut out so I assume that it could be a micro switch or sensor fault?
I do have it booked in to Peugeot for diags but wondered if it was something simple that I could resolve myself.

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
Hi,
Possible causes could be Micro-switch 'G' is not switching to tell the ecu that the boot has fully lifted hence still trying to drive or maybe your pressure is too low on the hydraulics system to actually lift the roof section.
I actually simulated the same fault on my car by turning the hydraulics a quarter turn Anti-clockwise, this allowed my boot to lift but would not lift the roof section. On my car i have the hydraulic setting fully Clockwise which seems to be fine.
Check Switch 'G' ( see post here http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12945)
Make sure Hydraulic setting is fully clockwise. (make a note what the original setting is prior to adjustment in case you need to put it back as originally set).

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
Thanks cockneyrebel, I located the switch but was lacking the correct tools to be able to take off the lining while in my work car park last night but I noticed switch G was loose. It is now being picked up to go to Peugeot so fingers crossed that is all it is, even tho it is still under warranty. Thanks again

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
Well mate, that was fun! Think Peugeot are trying to pull a fast one with me and my independent dealer. They called me an hour into the diags saying they could not locate the fault, advising that they had taken the roof apart and could not find any problems and had NOT checked the ECU, so I picked it up with it still not working or locked in place so the infernal BEEP BEEP BEEP continues! Grr! SO, I called the dealer I brought it from and he told me that Peugeot had called him saying they HAD connected and tested the ECU but needed another 2 days at £70 an hour to locate the fault and maybe not even fix it! Anyway, I got it home and not being one that can leave things alone, I unclipped the roof and heard motors whirring in the back, SO I checked the hydraulic allen screw which was undone, tightened it and hey presto... it locked in place then went back down and back up and beeping stopped woofrikkenhoo!! Issue resolved! Told my dealer about this and the 2 different stories we have been told which he was miffed about but I am going to see how it goes and hope it doesnt happen again but if it does I will be taking it back to my dealer for further diags, even tho it is 100 miles away but they are so good they will lend me a car for a week so they can investigate fully! Just weird that Peugeot said no fault and wanted it for another 2 days at £70 an hour!! I now have slight roof paranoia but its raining so can live with it at the moment. Just tried it again underground and it is still working and seems to be moving faster now so they have obviously done some good. Thank goodness for warranties eh?

And that my friend is why I'm so against taking it to a main dealers unless I've exhausted all possible solutions, and why sites like this are so important!
Glad its all sorted mate

Ahhh, Grandadmonkey... seen you comment on so many others and now mine! YAY!
Hi, I have now done 327 miles since they were done but the noise has now stopped completely, think there may have been some grit stuck in them since parking at my friends house who have just had a new gravel drive way. When I checked tyre pressures last night I had a feel around the back plates and every thing seems tight and secure so hopefully it will be ok now. Do you still have a 206cc?

Yes Dave, my wife still has hers.
New discs and pads take a few hundred miles to bed in, and they will can make a scraping noise until they've done that.

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
My dealer suggested gently applying the handbrake for a short time while driving??

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
Yes, that would work. LIGHTLY applying the handbrake would put the new pads and discs in permanent contact and bed them in. They'd get very hot though and if, when you came to park up at the end of the journey, you simply left the handbrake firmly on, you'd risk distorting the brand new discs as the heat would not be able to dissipate uniformly. Hence the reason no doubt that he said for a short time while driving.
Glad they've bedded in satisfactorily now.

Re: ROOF COVER MOTOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN CLOSING
All seems ok now but thinking of visiting the dealer I brought it from for a health check as it had been sitting on the forecourt since October
