replacing rear pads

Post by landrovereditor »

How easy is it to replace the rear pads?

Has anyone instructions for this?

I have searched the forum, wind back tool required ok, but how do you remove the pads?

Thank you.

Remove the caliper from the caliper carrier.
To remove pads-There is an "L" section shim between the end of the pad and the caliper carrier. It is kept in place by a spring clip with circular end, bit like a hand grenade pin. Pull this pin out with pliers, then tap out the "L" shaped shim with a pin punch. Once out you can wiggle the pads free, wind back piston and re assemble it all.
Make a note of how the pads and anti rattle springs are orientated, the pads are not symmetrical (note the pegs on the back that locate in the slots in the piston)
Cheers Col.
