2001 Boot Lid Not Closing

Help!!!!!

Hi Guys, so i have an issue with the roof already...
Everything works, unclip, windows come down, boot lid lifts, roof retracts into boot......
then nothing, lid stays up, parcel shelf doesnt pop over and motor (pump) keeps whirring.

So i searched the forum watched the videos and had a look.
Heres what i found...



Green circle is around the switch for when the roof is is stowed. The metal prong is misaligned and therefore the small metal bar doesnt connect with it, thus the computer doesnt know that the roof is stowed.
So i re align it and try again, roof goes into boot, switch makes connection then all roof functionality is gone and manual moving is needed.
So im thinking its that switch is the issue. Sourcing a new one today.

Other thing i noticed is that the switch had three cable off it but one isnt connected and tied off, could this be the wrong type of switch.

Also with switch not connecting, the roof will close correctly, comes out the boot, locks onto the roof the the boot lid comes down then ok.

Ok so now I need help.
Replaced the switch and still nothing.
When the replaced switch is activated the lid goes to close but nothing happens it just stops.

Any thoughts anyone

Hi again

So got a new ECU and a switch off another 206 cc, not the maplin one from yesterday.

and.......

It worked, so swapped the old ecu back in and still worked.......

So was the switch after all.

Hey mate

It's the switch pictures aboved the circled one.
It's the boot lid lower switch.

I grabbed the three for a tenner from the local scrappy

Here's hoping you're still on this forum!, where abouts in the boot is the switch?, it is hard to make it out. Cheers in advance!
