heater fan working but little warmth in air reaching the car
My Xreg 206 had the usual heater fan speed control problem which was fixed by fitting a new heater motor. Now I can't get any heat unto the car, which has digital controlled climatic control. There are no air locks, the thermostat is OK and the heater matrix has been flushed out. So hot water is getting to the matrix but there is very lukewarm air getting into the car. i.e. it's lukewarm provided the fan speed is 1 or 2 but it cools off rapidly at higher fan speeds. Before the heater was changed there was adequate heat, albeit spasmodically. Can anyone help with this problem?

heya
might one of 2 probs, the fan maybe wired the wrong way around.think the connector can go both ways
or the pollen filter is blocked.

Thanks for your suggestions but the fan is working well, plenty of speed but little heat. so why should the heater connection affect the heat output?
Regarding the pollen filter would you expect it to suddenly block, because the heater was pushing out hot air before the fan was changed. Changed because it worked when it wanted to i.e. not when the heater or fan buttons were operated.
Let me add that with air conditioning on selected cold temperatures are achieveable but as I said if 28 degress is selected perhaps 15degrees can be achieved with slow fan speed but it diminishes as the fan speed is increased.

If you have good airflow through the vents, it can only be low water temp, an airlock or poor water circulation (heater valve partially stuck maybe). Go through everything again making sure everything was reassembled correctly.

where do I find the heater valve and how do I check if it is stuck?

Think it's on the end of the heater matrix. Disconnect the 2 heater hoses that disappear through the bulkhead, turn the heater to full hot, and flush with a garden hose so water goes through one bulkhead pipe & out of the other one. Heater matrix could be full of sludge so it won't hurt to do this anyway. If you only get a trickle, that will be your obstruction!
Cheers Col.
