Hi everyone,
I am thinking of buying my missus a 206cc, I have about £3500 to spend ( I can go a little over). What would you recommend and what should I look out for (problems).
Thanks in advance
Andy

Has been asked many times before so if you use the forum search facility you'll find plenty of tips.
For example look at

If it was me I'd be looking at the youngest, one lady owner, 1.6 petrol Allure that I could find, with full service history, garaged all its life, lovingly cared for, in original condition, with all the bits and pieces that should go with it. Key card, locking wheel nut, wind deflector preferably. The 1.6 isn't the fastest but you'd probably have fewer problems with it, and it would be more economical to tax, insure and to run.
Bear in mind the roof should work perfectly. No warning lights on the dash. The cambelt is due for renewal at 10 years old or 100,000 miles whichever comes soonest. Drive it from cold, test run it for at least 10 miles, and make sure everything works perfectly.
You are buying at the right time of year when prices are falling, so I'd be looking at a 2005 car at the oldest. Servicing is every 2 years or 20,000 miles whichever comes soonest and is sometimes overlooked as a consequence.
Good luck. I hope you find a good car from a nice, honest, private seller.
