Hiya

Post by Russhdi »

Morning guys

I thought I would pop by and say hi. I picked up my 206 1.4hdi 2 days ago on a 03 plate and hope to get some great advice on here. Love the car already.

Few questions...

1. I did not get a confidential card with the car/documents, I have only just noticed? (the card with a keycode on)
2. how much would a remap cost if I decided to go down this route and would it give much more bhp?
3. my car is on 50k miles at the moment, when is it recommended to change the cambelt? and what kind of cost is reasonable do you think?

Cheers :trumpet:

peugot told me to go to an autlocksmith as its cheaper but its still stupid money 140 - 150 quid. My concern is if I lose the key I have but I have just realised I have cover with Sentinel and they cover lost or stolen car keys. If your concern is the same as mine .... it might be worth checking your household insurance policy

Cam belt on that engine should be good for up to 10 years old at your sort of mileage so should be OK until 2013.

Doing it your self the parts should cost around £60 - £70 from somewhere like GSF.

Would take a decent garage about 2.5 - 3 hours so I'd budget around £250 - £300 with VAT. You've plenty of time to find a good Peugeot indy and get a quote. Then ask your local main dealer for a quote too, to compare. No rush yet though.

Let us know how you get on.
