car wont start

Hi guys, new to this forum so please bear with me.....Put key in ignition turn and it just clicks, all lights, stereo, washers, central locking ect all fine but car just wont turn over. Car will start when bumped? New battery on car and all tests fine, new battery in key fob incase something to do with the immobilizer. Any ideas. Please answer in laymans terms as I am clueless when it comes to cars.

I assume it is a manual gearbox? Get the starter motor checked out. Both the leads and connections to it, and the starter motor itself.

It would help if we knew something about the car. Anything at all.

Sorry about scant detail..the car is a manual 1.8 deisel 2004.

I don't know a lot about diesels. This forum is for 206cc owners really and most have petrol engined cars. There is a 206cc diesel but it doesn't have a 1.8 diesel.

However I'd still check out the starter motor and leads and connections to it for a start. Could be the solenoid has packed up. If the leads and connections are OK then it could be time for a new starter motor.
