Heater blower only works on fastest speed

Post by Gemma43 »

Recently purchased a 206CC and the heater blower only works at the fastest speed.

Is the problem likely to be the switch or the motor please?

Thanks

Resistor block module to heater fan. Sounds as if you need a new resistor block.

Thanks for your prompt response.

Where is this located and do you have any idea as to the approximate cost?

Many thanks

Set the air recirculation flap lever to the recirculation position. Access to the resistor can then be gained via recirculation intake aperture on the underside of the heating/ventilation housing duct.

Rotate the resitor to free it from the duct and pull it into the duct.Disconnect the wiring connector and remove the resistor from the housing. (If access proves difficult, remove the blower motor and remove the resistor through the blower motor aperture).

Manoeuvre the new resistor into position and securely connect it to the wiring connector. Once the connector is securely fitted, locate the resistor in the duct and clip it into position.

Cost of resistor will be around £20 I guess.

Good luck.
