You mention a dodgy battery, I can't be certain that this is the root of your problems but I wouldn't attempt to operate the roof if the battery is failing. I would suggest you price up a new one at your local Peugeot garage, I replaced mine last year and it was cheaper from them than anywhere else.
If you haven't already, familiarise yourself with the operations manual, here http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads/handbook.pdf, especially the roof procedure and if you are still having problems post back.

ALL FIXED it turned out to be faulty switch inside the car that controls the roof and the 2 relays on the roof hydraulic pump .
easy fix for the price of £20 Amazing what you can get from scrap yard buy on get one free lol
just need to get my airbag fault sorted and rear lights not working at all . i did buy a new battery but that didnt cure it .
thankyou . and more help appreciated
Well done so far. Thank you for feeding back - may help someone else in future.
My airbag light comes on occasionally, usually when the driver's seat has been adjusted. A wriggle of the wire under the seat sorts it. Must be a slightly loose connection. Hope yours is something as simple.
Good luck with the rear lights issue.
