Windscreen Wipers Permanently On

Hi, I am new to this forum but have owned my 206 cc for about 5 years. Has anyone out there experienced problems with the windscreen wiper remaining 'on' the whole time? I have tried fixing it to 'automatic wipers' but it still works randomly whenever it likes wether it is raining or not. I have it on good authority that the windscreen sensor is not at fault. I am reluctant to take it to my local dealer until I know a bit more as I strongly suspect they are scammers!! Would appreciate some help!!!

Hello robbo you say the wipers work on automatic do they work when the switch is in the off position if so sounds like to me could be a faulty switch or possibly a short but i'm not an auto electrician (kev)

thanks Kev, they are intermittent as soon as i turn on the ignition with the stalk in the off position

Sounds like a new switch is in order then.
