Adding USB & aux input to existing head unit

Post by patrict »

Hi guys,

As per the topic subject, I have been looking to get USB and 3.5mm functionality for my car sound, and have been reading up a lot on stalk adaptors, display compatibility etc...

Then I came across this little item :)

http://www.ktduk.com/department/peugeot_usb_interface/

It plugs into the CD changer input on the back of the radio, and offers USB and aux input via the CD changer function on the radio. There are interfaces for the RD3 and RD4 head units.

There are slight limitations, such as:

* To access music it is important that the music has been saved/organised into folders named CD01, CD02 ... CD06. It is recommended that each folder contains a maximum of 99 tracks/songs.

I think I can live with that though.

Seems too good to be true!? So I ask, has anybody had any experience with these?

Cheers
Patric

Agreed, it is rather pricey... I would prefer to replace the entire head with something newer, but am finding it hard to find out if other heads are compatible with the multifunction display and steering stalk...

I had a clarion pop up tv in mine
Just took it out as my cars for sale
But I had the stalk controls on mine as I used a autoleads adaptor

Didn't really need the heads up as it's all on the headunit screen
