query under the wing mirrors

i just happened to notice when cleaning the car today that there is a small nodule under my n/s wing mirror but not under the o/s.
there is however a small hole has any one else noticed was wondring if it was a sensor any help would be most appreciated (kev)

The little nodule is the external temperature sensor that gives the reading on the dash. Maybe the hole on the drivers side is where it would go on LHD cars.
