my cc's died :(

am new this all so bare with me and i don't know anything about cars.

i recently got my cc as a present and its only been a few months. it was working fine one day and the next day it just wouldn't start. i got it to jump start rolling down a hill but i got a antipollution fault message on the dash board and the little engine light came on. luckily it didn't cut power while i was driving it but when i parked up and tried it again it was completely dead. it just wouldn't even attempt to start. i tried recharging the battery by connecting it to those battery charging things in the house, and when i put the battery back in the car it still did the same thing. am guessing its time for a new battery but does any one have any possible ideas of what else it could be that i could try before buying a new battery.

You don't say how old the battery is, but if the car is 7 years old or more and the battery is original then it has already done well.

thank you for that. i think it was my battery so ive changed it. also found a lose pipe in the process (think it was caused by using bumpy roads). the cars working now, though it started off sluggish but its getting there. however the 'economy mode' message is appearing on my dash board (before i even put the key in!) as well as the anti pollution one. do u think all i have to do is reset the comp or i there something else making the car get the economy mode message?

its a black 206cc 02 plate

I think that now you have a new battery, with regular use, the economy mode message will eventually disappear. What was the loose pipe (or was it a hose). If it is anything to do with the air induction system it could cause poor running problems. Some have been known to go brittle with age, and, if so, will need replacing.
