I bought my Peugeot 206 cc (51 plate) last year and had no problems with it untul recently.

When I attempt to take the rof down, it simply does not work.

I pull the boot cover over in the boot and close the boot, get into the car and start the engine. Wait a few seconds, then undo the roof catches to which I got a beeping noise. I then pull up the roof switch and it simply beeps and does nothing else. I've also tried the same routine with the windows down and nothing.

After looking through this site I tried looking at the 'white loops' in the boot to see that they were in place, they seem to be. However now when I get into the car and try the same process for taking the roof down it beeps constantly and only stops when I switch the engine off. Now when I am driving there is a constant beeping.

Can anyone please help me with some advice please?? I don't want to make it any worse. My local Peugeot dealer is over 35 miles away.

Many thanks in anticipation

Melanie:love-thx:

Update.......after further inspection in the boot I have found that the right hand side catch wasn't properly in place. I pushed it flush and this has now solved the constant beeping when I drive, it's stopped!!

However I'm still stuck with the problem of the roof not coming down...any ideas?????

Further update - Ive now fixed the roof myself...one of the bolts had come off the boot catch and when the boot was shut the catch wasn't closed fully and therefore when I tried to lower the roof it didn't work as it thought the boot wasn't closed! Didn't cost me a penny!

Well done. Its great isnt it when you sort it yourself.

I fixed my roof problem due to a missing pin. lol. One of the catches wasnt attaching to the roof cover.

I felt so good knowing I didnt have to take it to a peugeot dealer and get ripped off.

The missus bought a 206cc 05 plate on Friday and everything was running smoothly until we stopped in Tesco's for some shopping. Pulled the boot cover back to allow all the bags to fit in, and got this irritating beeping sound all the way home!

Removed the shopping, replaced the boot cover but the beeping still happens, I shall try the tips out above when she gets home from work!
