I know that if you try and lock the car with the bonnet open or unlocked (Lever pulled in passenger footwell), the car will emit the sound you are talking about.

It may be then that the microswitch on the bonnet catch is faulty/sticky and its thinking the bonnet is open or unlocked.

With regards to the car seeming immobilised on starting, I wonder if it is worth replacing the battery in the key fob. I know it contains a transponder chip which is recognised by the car when the key is inserted into the ignition. There is a ring of wire around the ignition barrel that recieves the signal from the transponder chip in the key telling the car its is ok to disable the immobiliser.

Maybe a weak keyfob battery might affect this.

Do you know I think you have just hit the nail on the head!!!

Pror to this happening we had put ribbon around the bonnet hook (on the car not on bonnet) as I was supposed to be transporting the bride to her wedding!!!

Will go and check now....also I have noticed that when the bonnet is closed the bonnet lever is very relaxed!!!?????

I wonder.....

And also the immobiliser side of the problem has stopped touch wood!!?? Not done it since I arrived back in Derby Saturday??

Thanks will keep you informed!!!

Kay :love-thx:

Hi Cheekee....

I want to "THANKYOU SO MUCH!!!!!"

You probably saved me hundreds of pounds!!!

Also it was the sensor when I put the ribbon on the car it must of pushed the sensor down so the car thought the bonnet was open,
I will actually never do this again (put ribbon on!!) and will pay a visit to my garage to let them know....might even pretend I fixed it Ha Ha :lol2:

Thanks again

Kay :love-thx:
