Hi
I'm a newbie so forgive me if this subject has already been done. Had a scan through previous but didn't find a definitive answer.
My recent purchase only came with one key, and no codes. Have received various quotes for getting a spare ranging from £140 to £180 (I think the latter may just have been having a laugh!).
As per previous discussions, this vast cost is made up of "having to contact France for codes" (the world communications revolution seemly having by passed Peugeot!), ordering the PLIB, programming, ordering the blade getting it cut, testing blah blah!
However, you seem to able to order second hand fobs on ebay (from write offs etc)for a few quid, likewise new blade blanks. Is it simply a matter of getting a blade, taking it to Timpsons for cutting, then taking a second hand fob to Peugeot for re-programming? If that's the case it seems you can get it all done for less than £50. I know more hassle but it's become a bit of a challenge now!
Or will I run into unexpected resistance from the dealers? Be grateful for any steers.
New keys - determined to beat the system!

are you after a blank spare key or central locking plip key?
normaly a key from a another car wont work because it specifically coded to that car and once learnt cant be recoded to another car.
yes a key cutter can cut you a blank blade with yours a as a pattern.
plip and fob will require a transponder code(blue credit card thing)or can be obtained from pug but charge £20 for the privalage(cause tis a security oriantated)
