Opened the boot though and there is a white pull string rolling around in the boot,:popping: i know this is used for the roof to be put up manually but just wondered if i could repair it and what does it actually do ?

The string is to release the parcel shelf if the roof fails. Like yourself I would love someone to tell me exactly how to reattach the new one I have bought. - at great expense - When we fit the new one you and I must remember to tuck it into the access hole to prevent it breaking again. I learned this too late!:rolleyes:
