hey my siters car did this and dealers said a lot of things in the end she just sold the car and didnt bother but it possibally could be-
faulty vac solonoid (also known as an egr valve, I believe).
If it is intermittent, it's worth checking the battery voltage. You sometimes get spurious messages if the battery is not 100%.
Renew the ECU
Renew the particle filter
Steering angle sensor
Renew the brake fluid if old

first u should Get an error code from someone with a diagnostic kit.

hope this is any use to u
when in doubt go flat out lol!

Hi, I freely admit to knowing nothing about Peugeots, so this info maybe wrong, but from my understanding of the error mesage:

ESP = Electronic Stability Programme.

ASR = Anti-Slip Retardation. (a posh name for good old-fashioned traction control) :lol2:

Both of these items are controlled through the ABS braking system, which means that there is a problem with the traction control system.

This could either be from a broken ABS sensor ring on one of the driveshafts, or a problem in the ABS control module.

Hope that narrows it down abit for you. :)
