Squeaky Roof!!! Help!

Hello there! I am new here, found this site when googling help with peugeot 206cc's.

One of my roof clips is sooo noisey! :trumpet: It makes a constant sqeaky irritating rattle over every vibration in the road (and there are many)...I know that there is some sort of oil I could buy but haven't a clue what the name is and where/which part of the roof to apply it?

Can anyone help? I'm not sure if I should apply the oil when the roof is down and up etc, or what oil I should use? Has anyone tried good old fashioned WD40 with this problem?

I totally refuse to go to a peugeot dealership as they are just money grabbers.

Hi KTM and welcome to the forum.
Don't know how old your car is. If the clip is tight enough then maybe a spray of silicon grease would quieten it down. However, if it has worked loose it may need a tweak of the Torx screw to tighten it a little first.
Try silicon spray first. I'd apply it (just a little while the roof is up). WD40 may help temporarily even though really it is a water repellant.

Hi Ron!

Thank you for your advise! Will buy some spray silicone today and give it a whirl. My cc is a 4 yrs old (53 plate) cc allure, in black. The roof has probably been sqeaking for a year or two but has definitely worsened in the last few months. Fingers crossed it will do the trick!

Will let you know how I got on.

did mine this morning,

so far so good,

took the torx screws out(never liked them)
and replaced them with allen key type screws.
added a little threadlock and screwed them in nice and tight...

resulting in no more squeak
