It is a worry!! I leave it down in a safe looking place or where I am not far away from my baby.
Any other time up it goes, always fun to watch peoples faces as the top goes up and down!!!!
Do keep the engine running while you do it, or so I have read on this helpful site.

We always put the roof up when parking and leaving it. Asking for trouble otherwise these days.

Sad state of affairs but true - least it's a metal roof when it is up - one worry I had when considered buying a soft top - even with it up someone could put a knife to it

My advise is Keep the roof up

If you leave it down and the vehicle unattended, should something unfortunate happen, your insurer may refuse
to pay out as the vehicle may be deemed unsecured.

Worth checking with your insurer about this.
