Purchased a 1.6 Allure ( silver ) 04 plate on Saturday.
Red & black leather interior - very nice.
Traded in my Focus and parted with wedge.
I pick the car up next Sarurday.
What I was wondering if you can give me any tips / info / help, etc for a noobie. For example, do you only operate the roof when stationary or can you operate it when you are driving? Can you use it when engine running or off?
Any little tit bits would be great. How often should I do a service, oil checks. Does the roof need oiling, anything I need to do or look out for to keep the car running good etc?
Cheers guys. Looks like a great friendly forum you have here and one I will be visiting on a regular basis after next Saturday!

CONGRATS!
I got mine a month ago (also with the red and black leather) and love it, though not many ops to have the roof down as yet! Only put the roof down when the car is stationary and with the engine turned on. I had new filters and oil done as part of the deal on mine after reading advice from people on here....
You'll love it, though it's going to be a long week of waiting for you..I had to wit 10days and it seemed to take forever!

Hi FP and welcome to the forum,
I assume you'll get the manual with it but if not look here and download a copy:
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads/handbook.pdf
You can operate the roof when moving very slowly I believe but I only ever do it while stationary. See page 73 of your manual. I only ever use it with the engine running too - don't really want a flat battery!! Follow the instructions precisely otherwise you are asking for trouble - potentially expensive trouble!
Intermediate service every 12m or 10k miles, full service every 2 years or 20k miles whichever comes soonest. Change the oil more frequently (annually) if you want to be on the safe side but Peugeot say the fully synthetic that they recommend should last 24m (20k miles). Filter at the same time of course. Renew the brake fluid every 2 years to protect your seals and ABS pump.
I always let mine go through its self diagnostics programme when I turn the ignition on, before operating the starter motor. Dip the clutch while you operate the starter motor too and your battery won't have to work so hard.
Any problems or specific queries? Just ask on this forum. There's always someone prepared to try to help.
Enjoy your new car, and the forthcoming spring and summer.
Regards, Ron

ha ha - sorry, just a dumb ass noob question.GrandadMonkey wrote:Is that a trick question? Cos it says so in the manual ???
My PC at home is broke and using my works PC at lunchtime - so cant access the download pdf. file.
When I took it out for a test drive, the dealer said keep your finger pressed down all the way until the roof is fully opend / closed ( where upon you here a beep ) or problems may arise
I didnt think of asking at the time - is that the only way the roof functions with the button pressed down constantly? I was under the impression it was a single press. Is it really a possible problem if you dont keep your finger pressed down?

Definitely a problem, KEEP YOUR FINGER PRESSED DOWN UNTIL YOU HEAR THE CONFIRMING BEEP. While you are doing it don't touch anything else! Don't let your passenger undo their seat belt or touch anything else either. If the roof does stop working part way because you have touched something make sure that when you take your finger off and press it again to make it continue, you press it the same way.
NEVER SWITCH OFF THE IGNITION WHILE OPERATING THE ROOF!
Make sure you get an Owner's manual and READ IT.
Good luck with your PC at home,
Ron

I've just bought my 1st 206cc Allure.. had it one week tomorrow and I absolutely love it... even though its not really been warm enough I have managed to have roof down a few times and I love it. Named her Polly, she's blue with cream leather interior and just want to show her off all the time!
