just got this email, hopefully someone on here can help her out, please reply in the thread, thx -

I have recently purchased a 2004 206cc and it has developed a problem with the automatic transmission (I think). When I stop at traffic lights or roundabouts there is an audible thud and the car jolts.

I have taken it back to the dealer as the car is still under warranty but as predicted they said there is nothing wrong! I am having it independently assessed by the local Peugeot dealer who will give me a written report to give to the dealer where I purchased the car.

It has 69,000 kms so do you think this could be something major? I would value an opinion.I am so dissapointed as I absolutely love my new car I am a 63 yr old Aussie woman and am having sooo much fun with the car I had an Austin Healy Sprite(brightyellow) when I was 20 and always vowed to get another convertible. Hope you can help

I haven't a clue as to the problem as I only got my cc on Tuesday but I love it as much as you love yours! Hope you get things sorted. I'm 61 so glad to know I'm not the only old girl having a fling!!!

You have a AL4 gearbox, and what you describe is a common fault, tis pressure solenoids inside the gearbox.
The old type solenoid need to be changed with the new type borg warner ones(black); and a gearbox software down-load to accept the new parts. Top up with new fluid, and she'll be like new again. :)
If you pay for a ticket to oz I'll gladly come and fit them for you free of charge .lol .:)

i emailed reap's reply to barbara, here's what i got back in return

Hi Lyndon, Thanks so much for that. But the problem is solved! and I must tell you this very funny story which goes to show that 63 yr old gals shouldnt be flying around in cc's!

My daughter came to visit and I noticed all the weekend when she was driving ( she wont let me drive when she is with me as she thinks I am too slow!)the problem wasnt occuring later on I took my 16 yr old learner driver grandaughter to gewt a pizza and she said "Grannie are you using both feet to drive" " Yes Courney I am" So what was happening I still had one foot on the accelerator whilst braking!

Can you believe this after 45 yrs of driving. I must have been taught to drive in this manner. I have never had the problem before but perhaps the car is super sensitive.

Have been out this morning in the beautiful weather with my Peugeot cap on

Cheers Barb
