OPERATION OF THE RETRACTABLE ROOF/BOOT SYSTEM (COUPE/CABRIOLET)

1 - DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM

Vehicle in coupé version, roof closed (unfolded) .

Vehicle in cabriolet version, roof open (folded and stored in the boot) .

The system consists of 2 assemblies :

2 - CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OPERATION

The roof can only be opened or closed in the following conditions :

A buzzer emits a continuous sound :

The retractable roof cannot operate if the ecu has not received simultaneous engine running and vehicle speed information during the hour which precedes the manoeuvre .

NOTE : manoeuvring of the windows via their controls is not possible during the retractable roof operating cycle .

NOTE : the heated rear screen and the interior protection alarm (according to destination) only operate if the vehicle is in the coupé position .

3 - RETRACTABLE ROOF OPENING CYCLE

WARNING : to avoid any risk of accident, it is advisable not to walk around the vehicle while the retractable roof is moving .

Switch on the ignition .

Release the two front locking systems (1) on the roof .

A bleep is heard when release is complete: operation is authorised .

Pull the retractable roof control switch (2) upwards .

The door and quarter light windows lower to the bottom stop .

The upper boot cover (3) is released and opens .

The retractable roof (4) opens and folds into the boot .

The moving rear shelf (5) pivots and comes out of its housing .

NOTE : if the moving rear shelf (5) does not come out there is a fault and the buzzer is not heard .

The upper boot cover (3) closes and locks .

A bleep is heard, the manoeuvre is complete .

NOTE : the separate electric window controls are reactivated, they can now be operated .

4 - RETRACTABLE ROOF CLOSING CYCLE

WARNING : to avoid any risk of accident, it is advisable not to walk around the vehicle while the retractable roof is moving .

Switch on the ignition .

Pull the retractable roof control switch (2) downwards .

The door and quarter light windows lower to the bottom stop (If the door and quarter light windows are at the top stop) .

The upper boot cover (3) is released and opens .

The moving rear shelf (5) pivots and is stored in its housing .

The retractable roof (4) closes .

The upper boot cover (3) closes and locks .

A bleep is heard, the manoeuvre is complete .

Lock the two front locking systems (1) on the roof .

NOTE : the separate electric window controls are reactivated, they can now be operated .

5 - OPERATION IN LOWER MODE

This mode makes it possible to prevent operation of a faulty function to complete the action undertaken (to move from the cabriolet position to the coupé position), it is also used in service (repairs, adjustments, replacement of parts) .

5 - 1 - MANUAL SYSTEM

IMPERATIVE : position your hands carefully to avoid any injury by the mechanism .

REPAIR PROCEDURE .

IMPERATIVE : after elimination of the fault ; return the upper cover release/locking u clips to the release position (automatic locking) .
