GENERAL NOTES FOR VEHICLE : PRESENTATION COUPE / CABRIOLET ; SPECIAL FEATURES

IMPERATIVE : correct understanding of the sections below determines the success of the repair operations for the components which make up the systems listed in the repair procedures .

1 - RETRACTABLE ROOF ASSEMBLY

The 206 coupé/cabriolet is a vehicle fitted with a retractable steel roof, consisting of :

• the front moving panel
• the rear moving panel
• the hinge mechanisms

1 - 1 - FRONT MOVING PANEL

Composition of the assembly :

• 2 side trim (left and right) (1)
• 2 side seals (left and right) (2)
• 1 headlining (3)
• 2 front locking systems (4)

1 - 2 - REAR MOVING PANEL

Composition of the assembly :

• 1 rear screen (bonded) (5)
• 1 rear screen upper seal (6)
• 1 rear screen lower seal (7)
• 1 rear screen upper trim (8)
• 2 side trim (left and right) (9)
• 1 pinning on the cylinder head using the bolt (10)

1 - 3 - RETRACTABLE ROOF RIGHT/LEFT HINGE MECHANISM ASSEMBLIES

The retractable roof hinge mechanisms permit :

• retaining of the front and rear moving panels on the body
• the movements of the retractable roof
• the indirect participation in the sealing and appearance of the vehicle
• the rotation of the moving rear shelf which will close the space left by the rear moving panel between the passenger compartment rear partition and the upper boot cover (cabriolet version)

Composition of the assembly :

• 2 hinge arms (left and right) (11)
• 1 roof closed switch (left-hand side only)
• 2 retractable roof struts (12)

Mounting on the body :

• the right and left hinge mechanisms are secured to the body at 6 points (13)
• two right and left centring pins (14) enabling the retractable roof assembly to be fitted to the body without adjustment

Front panel mountings :

• the front moving panel is secured at the side on the right and left hinges by 4 fixings (15)

Retractable roof tensioning system :

• the mechanism has a cam (16) which exerts a tension between the front moving panel and the rear moving panel

NOTE : {{n11117}} toutes les interventions sur excentrique necessitent un remplacement de mecanisme d'articulation du toit escamotable .

1 - 4 - MOVING REAR SHELF HINGE MECHANISM ASSEMBLY

The 206 coupé/cabriolet is a vehicle fitted with a moving shelf panel .

Composition of the assembly :

• 1 moving rear shelf strut (17)
• 1 moving rear shelf stored switch (18)
• 1 moving rear shelf in place switch (19)
• 1 retractable roof open switch (20)

The moving rear shelf hinge mechanism is moved by the strut (17) .

The moving shelf panel hinge mechanism is secured to :

• the retractable roof right and left hinge mechanisms (21)
• the body (22)

1 - 5 - FRONT LOCKING SYSTEMS (RIGHT / LEFT)

Composition of the assembly :

• centring pin (23)
• locking/releasing hook (24)
• manoeuvring control (25)

Operation of the control (25) locks or releases .

The 2 front locking systems (4) are secured to the front moving panel by 8 fixings (26) and hook onto 2 strikers secured on the windscreen aperture .

An adjustment at X is possible to create the clearance between the front moving panel and the windscreen pillar .

1 - 6 - ROOF STRIKERS (LEFT AND RIGHT)

The two right and left strikers position and lock the retractable roof on the upper crossmember of the windscreen aperture .

Composition of the assembly :

• 2 right/left locking/release switches (27)

The two right/left strikers are secured on the windscreen aperture by 6 bolts :

• on the left-hand side : adjustable at Y (tolerance compensation)
• on the right-hand side : not adjustable

1 - 7 - RETRACTABLE ROOF REAR SUPPORTS

The presence of the two right and left rear supports positions the retractable roof assembly when folded in the boot and retains it .

The two right and left rear supports (28) are secured inside the boot by 4 bolts (29) .

2 - BOOT ASSEMBLY

The 206 coupé/cabriolet is a vehicle fitted with the following components :

• a hinged upper boot cover, permitting conventional opening of the boot and opening from the front towards the rear to accommodate the retractable roof in the boot when the vehicle changes from the coupé version to the cabriolet version
• a lower boot cover
• hinge mechanisms to which the two upper and lower covers are attached

2 - 1 - UPPER BOOT COVER ASSEMBLY

Composition of the assembly :

• 2 upper boot cover right and left trims (30)
• 2 upper boot cover right and left trim seals (31)
• 1 number plate light trim (32)
• 2 number plate lamps (33)
• 1 high-level brake light (34)

2 - 2 - LOWER BOOT COVER ASSEMBLY

Composition of the assembly :

• 1 boot opening control mechanism with push-lock boot lock and control rods (35)
• 1 lower boot cover seal (36)
• 1 boot cover trim (37)
• 2 boot right and left stops (38)
• 2 various badges (39)

2 - 3 - BOOT HINGE MECHANISM ASSEMBLIES

The boot hinge mechanism assembly permits :

• conventional opening of the boot for access for loading
• opening or closing of the upper cover during retractable roof manoeuvres
• the locking/release of the upper cover
• retaining and hinging of the boot

Composition of the assembly :

• 1 upper boot cover open switch (40)
• 2 upper boot cover locked right/left switches (41)
• 1 upper boot cover hinge mechanism (42)
• 1 boot hinge mechanism (43)
• 2 upper boot cover right/left locking/release systems (44)
• 2 boot right/left hinge arms (45)
• 4 upper boot cover locking/release right/left cables (46)
• 2 strikers (47)
• 2 upper boot cover hinge right/left struts (48)
• 2 right/left gas struts (49)

The upper boot cover hinge mechanism (42) is secured with :

• the upper boot cover by 8 fixings (50)

The boot hinge mechanism (43) is secured with :

• the lower boot cover by 6 fixings (51)

the right and left locking/release systems (44) are fitted with 2 u clips (52) which permit the locking/release of the upper boot cover during manual use of the system (downgrade mode) :

• (P1) : automatic operation position (release)
• (P2) : manual operation position (locking)

The right and left hinge arms (45) are secured on :

• the boot hinge mechanism (43) by 6 fixings
• the body by 6 fixings (54)

The two right and left strikers (47) are secured to the right and left hinge arms (45) by 4 fixings (55) .

The two upper boot cover right/left locking/release systems (44) are connected by 4 cables (46) to the upper boot cover hinge mechanism .

2 - 4 - SCREEN (LUGGAGE COVER)

A screen (luggage cover) is fitted on a roller inside the boot providing the following information :

• indication of the load limit
• information to the ecu regarding the position of the system via the screen extended switch

The screen (luggage cover) roller (56) is secured to the body by 2 mountings (57) .

The two screen (luggage cover) right and left supports (58) are secured at the back of the boot by 2 fixings (59) (presence of a screen extended switch on the support, left-hand side only) .

3 - ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

3 - 1 - ELECTRONIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT)

The information transmitted to the ecu by the various switches installed on the system parts determines the operation of the retractable roof or boot assembly .

The ecu is installed in the boot (left-hand side) along the passenger compartment rear partition .

The ecu (60) controls :

• opening or closing of the retractable roof
• opening or closing of the upper boot cover
• putting in place or storing of the moving rear shelf
• lowering or raising of the door and quarter light windows

3 - 2 - SWITCHES

The switches continuously inform the ecu about :

• the conditions prior to opening or closing the retractable roof
• the moving parts

The 11 switches are installed on the retractable roof and boot assembly .

4 - HYDRAULIC UNIT

The hydraulic unit is used to move the following components :

• the retractable roof
• the upper boot cover
• the moving rear shelf

The central electro-hydraulic unit installed in the boot (right-hand side) along the passenger compartment rear partition .

Composition of the assembly :

• 1 central electro-hydraulic unit (61)
• 2 retractable roof struts (62)
• 2 upper boot cover manoeuvring struts (63)
• 1 moving rear shelf strut (64)
• 2 control relays (65)
• 4 retractable roof right and left struts hydraulic pipes (66)
• 4 boot upper cover right and left struts hydraulic pipes (67)
• 2 moving rear shelf strut hydraulic pipes (68)

The central electro-hydraulic unit (61) is fitted with the following components :

• 1 reservoir with oil level indicator (69), (A : max. ; B : mini)
• 1 filling screw (70)
• 1 system load reduction bolt (71) (for manual manoeuvre)
• 1 drain screws (72)

WARNING : the oil used in the hydraulic system is a mineral oil ARAL VITAMOL ZHM which cannot be mixed with any other oil, synthetic for example .
