4 - FITTING
4 - 1 - VEHICLE PREPARATION
Open the bonnet .
Disconnect the battery + terminal .
Remove :
Remove :
Remove : The rubber blank (38) .
Using a screwdriver, drive out the plastic protective cover from the bottom of the recess to free the bulkhead opening .
4 - 2 - FITTING : SIREN (1)/BONNET SWITCH (7)
To the siren harness (8) , fit the grommet (10) at 400 mm from the siren liaison connector (21) .
Seal using the mastic (27) which is to be used like modelling clay .
Remove :
Pass the siren harness (8) fitted with the grommet (10) into the bulkhead opening .
Remove the grille .
Route the bonnet switch liaison connector wire (24) along the original harness as far as the left-hand direction indicator and clip it .
Clip the bonnet switch (7) .
Clip the wire to the bonnet opening cable (41) .
Connect the connector (24) to the connector (25) .
Passenger compartment side :
AIR CONDITIONING
Fit the siren securing plate (9) to the welded bolt on the shock absorber turret .
Connect the connector (21) for the siren harness (8) to the siren (1) .
Compact alarm :
Secure the siren (1) to the plate (9) .
Position the air conditioning thermostat bracket (40) .
Connect the connector (21) for the siren harness (8) to the siren (1) .
Compact alarm :
Secure the siren to the bracket (40) then secure the bracket (40) .
ALL MODELS
4 - 3 - FITTING : BUILT-IN SYSTEMS INTERFACE CONNECTION HARNESS/(6) ALARM
Disconnect the blue connector (42) and connect it to the purple connector (14) for the BSI/alarm harness (6) .
Disconnect the black connector (43) and connect it to the black connector (17) for the BSI/alarm harness (6) .
Connect the BSI/alarm harness connectors (15) and (16) to the BSI .
Clip the BSI/alarm harness (6) along the original harness .
Unclip the passenger compartment fuse box double lock (52) .
Clip the terminal of the red wire (11) of the BSI/alarm harness (6) to the passenger compartment fuse box (37) at terminal A10 (44) .
Insert the fuse (28) (15 A) in position 10 .
Connect the connector (22) for the siren harness (8) to the BSI/alarm harness connector (13) .
4 - 4 - FITTING : DISPLAY LED (3)
Unclip the upper centre panel (45) .
Route the LED connection connector wire (19) for the BSI/alarm harness (6) along the original harnesses as far as the clock .
Connect the connector (19) to the connector (20) for the display LED (3) .
Make a hole in the centre of the upper centre panel (45), diameter 8 mm .
Fit the display LED (3) .
4 - 5 - FITTING : ULTRASONIC SENSOR (4) (ACCORDING TO MODEL)
Unclip the left and right hand windscreen pillars .
Position the ultrasonic sensors (4) at the top of the windscreen pillars .
Route the wire of the right-hand sensor under the headlining retaining it with the mastic (27) at regular intervals .
Route the wires of the sensors along the windscreen pillar to the passenger compartment fuse box .
Compact alarm :
4 - 6 - FITTING : LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SWITCH (5)
Remove the luggage compartment carpet (47) (Partly) (left side) .
Remove the luggage compartment side trim (46) (left side) .
Mark the position of the striker (Tailgate) .
Remove the striker .
Fit the tailgate striker part number 8724.74 fitted with the luggage compartment switch (5) .
Connect the luggage compartment switch harness connector (26) to the striker (5) .
Secure the luggage compartment switch harness earth terminal (26) to the striker right-hand mounting bolt (48) .
Clip the harness (26) using two fasteners (30) part number 6995.45 and route it in the sheathing (49) as far as the rear seat cushion .
Route the luggage compartment switch harness wire (26) along the original harness .
Connect the white/green wire or blue wire (12) of the BSI/alarm harness (6) to the luggage compartment switch harness wire (26) using a RAYCHEM sleeve (50) (according to model) .
4 - 7 - FITTING : REAR DOOR CONTACT (VEHICLE WITHOUT CENTRAL LOCKING)
Remove the B/C post lower trims (On both sides) .
Drill a 12 mm diameter hole in the centre pillars observing the dimensions .
Fit the door sill switches part number 6366.78 and mark the position of the securing holes .
Drill the securing holes to a diameter of 3 mm .
Protect the holes with anti-corrosion product .
Make the connections to the switches using clips part number 6542.56 .
Connect the switches to the luggage compartment switch harness wire (26) using a RAYCHEM sleeve .
Secure the switches using the bolts part number 6924.34 .
4 - 8 - FITTING : ALARM UNIT (ACCORDING TO MODEL)
Connect the connector (18) for the BSI/alarm harness (6) to the unit (2) .
Remove the security card from the unit so that it can be given to the customer (according to model) .
Connect the ultrasonic sensors to the unit (according to model) .
Secure the unit (2) to the left-hand ventilation hose (51) using the plastic clip (29) .
