REPLACEMENT REAR SCREEN UPPER TRIM

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Electric knife set FEIN :

• [1a] electric knife only
• [1b] stone to be sharpened
• [1c] pin wrench

[2] Shovel blade No. 146 .

2 - BONDING KIT

[3] Bonding kit :

• [3a] mixed polyurethane adhesive 2 in a 50 ml tube
• [3b] application gun
• [3c] automatic mixing nozzle

[4] Bonding kit :

• [4a] 1 cartridge 300 ml
• [4b] 1 primer for sheet metal 30 ml
• [4c] 1 degreaser 30ml
• [4d] 1 wiping paper
• [4e] 1 nozzle
• [4f] 1 applicator
• [4g] 1 instructions

3 - REMOVAL

Change the vehicle into the coupé version .

Lower the side windows of the doors and rear quarter panels .

APPLY THE OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR HYDRAULIC PUMP LOAD REDUCTION .

IMMOBILISE THE BOOT COVER .

Lift the roof then place it in the intermediate position for accessibility ( Two operators are necessary) .

REMOVE THE REAR SCREEN INTERNAL TRIMS (RIGHT AND LEFT) .

Lift the trim at one end and gradually detach the damaged trim .

Position a cover and protect the rear seats and seat backs .

Using the tool [1] and the blade [2], level off the bead of adhesive on the rear screen lining .

NOTE : when handling, if there is contact between the knife and the metal, carry out protective anti-corrosion treatment of the section of metal laid bare .

Remove the rear seat and seat back protectors .

4 - REFITTING

Cut out the end of the nozzle [3c] to a diameter of 8 mm and a height of 12 mm .

Apply the bead of adhesive in the recesses of the trim, using the gun [3b] .

Degrease using dilute surface cleaner .

Position the new rear screen trim (1) on the lining and apply pressure along the whole length. maintain the pressure using adhesive tape (2) .

Allow to dry, then remove the adhesive tape .

Refit the internal rear screen trims .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

Carry out a roof opening and closing test .
