REMOVAL - REFITTING WINDSCREEN

1 - 2 - BONDING KIT

[6] Adhesive kit (quick set) :

[6b] red coloured metal primer (for pre-coated metal)

1 - 3 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[12] U-shaped blade No. 79 .

[13] Shovel blade No. 146 .

[14] Set of windscreen support shims (In kit (-).1347) .

2 - REMOVAL

Remove :

the screen-washer pipe
the fasteners (1) (bonnet)
the bonnet (2)
the bonnet seal
the wiper blade/arm assemblies (3) using the extractor [3] (-).1335
the scuttle grille (5)
the interior screen pillars

Remove :

the clip (6) belonging to the trim (8)
the bezel (8)
the shaped section (7)

Place adhesive strips at the top and bottom which will serve as markers for the final position of the screen .

Cut out the markers .

IMPERATIVE : rain sensor : secure the supply wire to the roof console with adhesive tape to avoid damaging it when cutting out the windscreen .

WARNING : gloves and protective goggles must be worn for the following operations .

Fit the blade [12] to the electric knife .

Insert the blade in the bead of adhesive at the top of the screen .

Direction of cutting-out (A - B - C) .

NOTE : cut out only the side and bottom parts from outside .

*CD : On the right-hand side .

*CG : On the left-hand side .

Secure the retaining shims [14] at D to support and position the screen when refitting it .

Continue the cutting-out operation at the top of the screen, still from the outside .

Remove the windscreen .

2 - 1 - PREPARATION OF FLANGE AND SCREEN

Protect the fascia .

Fit the blade [13] to the electric knife N°146 .

Level off the beads of adhesive on the windscreen and the flange .

NOTE : when replacing the windscreen : offer up the windscreen to the aperture; place adhesive strips at the top and bottom which will serve as markers for the final position of the screen .

Touch up with anti-corrosion product .

Degrease the flange and the windscreen with the product selected from the adhesive kit .

Allow to dry for 10 mn .

Apply the metal and glass primers selected from the adhesive kit .

Position the shims at the points indicated on the lower flange .

3 - REFITTING

Fit the mastic mixer assembly to the extruder gun .

Take the nozzle supplied in the bonding kit .

Apply the bead of adhesive :

at E (15 mm from the edge)
at F (10 mm from the edge)
at G (20 mm from the edge)

Refit the section (7) on the windscreen .

IMPERATIVE : no more than 8 minutes must elapse between applying the mastic and positioning the glass (for the quick bonding adhesive mastics) .

Offer up the glass to the aperture opposite the markers H (Using the suction cups [4]) .

Exert a constant pressure using the suction cups with wires [5] .

Allow to dry according to the instructions in the adhesive kit .

Remove the shims [14] holding the glass .

After carrying out the operations above : .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .
